Management System Training

Management system training taught by people who audit for a living. Most of our trainers are practising lead auditors, so the material is drawn from audits actually conducted rather than from a syllabus — what auditors look for, where findings usually arise, and how conformity is demonstrated in practice rather than in theory.

• AwarenessIntroduces the standard, its structure and requirements. For personnel who work within the system and need to understand what it asks of them, and for management deciding whether to pursue certification.
• Internal AuditorPlanning and conducting internal audits, gathering objective evidence, writing findings that can be acted on, and following up corrective action. The competence the standard requires organisations to hold in-house.
• Lead AuditorManaging an audit programme and leading an audit team, applying ISO 19011 principles and, for certification auditors, ISO/IEC 17021-1. Assessed, and recognised for auditor registration.
• Lead ImplementerBuilding and implementing a management system: interpreting requirements, planning the project, and preparing an organisation for certification audit.
• Refresher and continuing developmentShort courses for auditors maintaining registration or returning to auditing after a gap, covering revised requirements, common findings and current interpretation.

Accreditation standards training

Training on the ISO/IEC 17000 series is a distinct offering and one few providers in the region deliver. It is aimed at laboratories, inspection bodies, certification bodies and personnel certification bodies preparing for accreditation or maintaining it — taught by people who work under those standards daily, since ITMAD is itself an accredited body assessed against them.

Certification and recognition

Courses are delivered under the Exemplar Global personnel certification scheme, with course material approved by the awarding body. Certificates issued under the scheme are recognised internationally and are what employers and registration bodies accept when assessing auditor competence. ITMAD is also an approved training provider with KHDA in Dubai and ACTVET in Abu Dhabi.

How courses are taught

The method balances instruction with discussion, exercises and case studies drawn from real audit situations, because auditing is a skill rather than a body of knowledge — a delegate who can recite the clauses but cannot write a defensible finding has not learned the job. On selected programmes, delegates can observe a live third-party audit alongside our lead auditors, which is the part of the training most people remember.

Training and certification independence

ITMAD is an accredited certification body, and training is delivered as generic instruction on the standard — not as advice on your particular system. Under ISO/IEC 17021-1 we cannot consult on a management system we certify, and a training course does not become a route around that. Delegates from organisations we certify are welcome on any course; what we will not do is design their system for them.
