Equipment Safety Training
KHDA and ACTVET approved equipment safety training in the UAE: safe use of cranes, forklifts, man lifts and earth moving equipment, plus scaffolding, rigging supervision, welding, abrasive wheel and power tool safety.
Most equipment incidents come down to how the machine was used rather than how it was maintained. ITMAD delivers practical safety training for the people operating, supervising and working around lifting, access and powered equipment — built around interaction and participation rather than lecture, so that what is taught is retained on site.
Approvals
ITMAD is an approved training provider with KHDA in Dubai and ACTVET in Abu Dhabi. Certificates issued under those approvals are recognised by employers and authorities in both emirates, which matters at the point a client or regulator asks to see training records — training from an unapproved provider is often rejected, and the delegate has to be retrained.
Courses offered
Lifting and access equipment
- Safe Use of Cranes — load charts and their limits, ground conditions and outrigger loading, the effect of radius on capacity, exclusion zones, standard signals and lift planning
- Safe Use of Man Lift — machine selection, ground assessment, stability and wind limits, harness use, avoidance of entrapment and crushing, and emergency lowering
- Aerial Lift Safety — safe operation of boom-type and articulating platforms, including rescue arrangements
- Safe Use of Forklift — the stability triangle and how load, height and travel affect it, capacity plates and attachments, pedestrian interaction, ramps and confined areas, and daily pre-use checks
- Rigging Supervisor — sling angles and resulting tension, load estimation and centre of gravity, selection of accessories, safe working load and de-rating, pre-use inspection and discard criteria
Earth moving and plant
- Safe Use of Earth Moving Equipment — excavators, loaders and dozers: ground and slope stability, excavation hazards, buried services, blind spots and exclusion zones, banksman interaction, and pre-use inspection
Scaffolding
- Scaffolding — Supervisor and Erector — foundations and base plates, bracing and tie patterns, loading classes, edge protection, safe erection and dismantling sequences, tagging systems, and inspection criteria
Tools and hot work
- Welding Safety — fume and gas hazards, ventilation, fire and explosion control, hot work permits, radiation and burn protection, and compressed gas handling
- Abrasive Wheel Safety — wheel selection and marking, mounting and dressing, speed limits, guarding, inspection for damage, and safe storage
- Power Tools Safety — selection for the task, guarding, electrical and pneumatic hazards, vibration and noise exposure, inspection and defect reporting
How courses are delivered
Sessions are built around discussion, demonstration and delegate participation rather than presentation alone, with group sizes kept small enough that individuals are observed and assessed rather than counted. Where equipment is available, practical elements are conducted on the machines delegates actually use, because familiarity with one machine does not transfer automatically to another.
Training can be delivered at your site or at ITMAD premises. Language is matched to the workforce where required, since safety training delivered in a language a delegate does not fully follow produces a certificate rather than competence.
Bespoke training
Where your equipment, site conditions or client requirements differ from a standard syllabus, courses are built to match — your specific machines, your permit-to-work system, your procedures, and the hazards actually present on your site. This is frequently needed where a major operator's HSE specification sets training content by contract.

Training informed by inspection
ITMAD inspects and certifies lifting and site equipment as an accredited inspection body. The training reflects that: the defects delegates are taught to look for in pre-use checks are the ones our inspectors find in practice, and the discard criteria taught are those applied at statutory inspection.
